Toshi Clinch
Toshi Clinch is a renowned Australian composer, arranger, bassist and producer. His arrangements have been performed around the globe including the United States, Asia, Europe and Australia by performers such as the Glenn Miller Orchestra, Tommy Dorsey Big Band, Danilo Perez, James Morrison, and finalists from both X Factor and Australian Idol. As a bassist he has performed alongside Ed Soph, Vincent Gardner, Tom “Bones” Malone, Richard DeRosa and Pat Coil among others. Clinch is also the founder and current director of the Big Band Through The Ages Jazz Festival in Melbourne, Australia.
THE PARIS CAT BIG BAND
Launching in 2019, The Paris Cat Big Band will be performing on the second Sunday of every month at The Paris Cat Jazz Club. The band brings together some of the finest musicians in Melbourne to perform a new themed concert each month. Some of the themes expected include the music of Quincy Jones, Thad Jones and Dizzy Gillespie. The band will be lead by Toshi Clinch.
TOSHI’S NOT-SO-BIG BAND
Originally formed to help raise funds for the 2018 Big Band Through The Ages Jazz Festival, the band performs themed shows that draw from popular culture and are arranged by Toshi Clinch to suit a jazz setting. Some of these include A New Take On Disney, Musicals Rediscovered, Shaken Not Stirred, and All Things Nintendo. The band will be performing on the last Saturday of the month at The Paris Cat Jazz Club.
THE BEN MCGILL BIG BAND
In 2018 one of Melbourne’s best crooners, Ben McGill, joined forces with Toshi Clinch to form a 12 piece big band that performs classic Frank Sinatra albums including Sinatra at the Sands and L.A. is My Lady.
THE TOSHI CLINCH NONET
Launching in 2019, Toshi' Clinch’s personal nonet will perform original compositions by Clinch and be comprised of some of Melbourne’s finest musicians. This ensemble will be the primary place to hear new works by Clinch.
